This project involves enhancing the aesthetic and durability of interior spaces by installing new Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring in two rooms. Known for its rich, deep tones and exceptional hardness, Brazilian cherry (Jatoba) is one of the most durable woods for flooring, offering both elegance and resilience. The installation process includes staggering the planks to create a visually appealing, seamless pattern that enhances the rooms' flow. To ensure uniformity, both the new and existing flooring will undergo thorough sanding to smooth the surface and prepare it for treatment. A bleaching process will be applied to remove the wood’s natural burgundy hue, softening its bold color. Following this, a white-washed stain will be carefully applied to further tone down the red undertones, achieving a modern, trendy look that balances warmth and neutrality. The project concludes with the application of three coats of water-based finish, providing a protective, low-maintenance layer that enhances the wood’s natural beauty while ensuring long-lasting durability. This combination of techniques results in a cohesive, stylish floor that complements contemporary design trends while showcasing the unique character of Brazilian cherry.
